Academic Award
Tom Pridham, Executive Director of the Service Research Innovation Initiative will be announcing the first academic service research and innovation award program to the SRIC academic community during this conference. Mr. Pridham will discuss an overview of the program and participation details. We look forward to your feedback and participation.
Why should academia participate at this conference?
This is a unique opportunity to participate in a forum that will have over 1,000 service professionals from around the world discussing business successes, challenges and opportunities facing their service and support businesses. In no other services venue will academia have a greater opportunity to observe and gain valuable insights to these key service challenges, many of which will require academic and research collaboration efforts to help solve.
The Importance of Services Innovation
It is clear now that the old approaches for designing and delivering services will no longer be sufficient with the increased demand from consumers for greater value, increased level of service expectations, and reduced price points that are available in shorter time frames. As more corporations experience an increasing share of revenues coming from their service business units, corporations are finding an increased need to both maintain and innovate around these new revenue streams to provide them with a competitive advantage and sustained business health. Applying academic disciplines to service strategy, innovation and execution represents a new way of thinking that will play a significant role as organizations around the world begin to develop their service innovation roadmaps.
It is clear now that Service Innovation is a topic of great relevance to business, academic and government.
