Reijo is the CEO of the Strategic Center for Science, Technology and Innovation in the field of ICT in Finland (www.tivit.fi). Tivit is owned by over 40 firms, universities and public bodies. Reijo has more than 25 yrs of experience in the mobile communication and IT industries in Finland, Europe and the United States. Reijo spent almost 20 years at Nokia in various roles such as Head of Nokia Research, Vice President Corporate Planning, Vice President Cellular Data, Senior Vice President of Research & Technology, Nokia Mobile Phone and Senior Vice President of Wireless Business Communications. He has been a member of the board on several companies. Reijo earned his M.S in Electrical Engineering from Helsinki University.
Pauli Kuosmanen: CTO of TIVIT
Pauli Kuosmanen received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Licentiate degrees in mathematics from the University of Tampere, Finland, in 1989, 1991, and 1993, respectively. He received the doctor of technology degree in signal processing from the Tampere University of Technology in 1994. He received the eMBA degree in 2006.
Since 1990 he has held various research and teaching positions at the University of Tampere and the Tampere University of Technology, most notably he was a professor of signal processing for 8 years. He was working as a Director of New Technologies at the Research Center of Elisa Communications Corp during 2001-2004. He was the CTO of telecommunications at Plenware, 2005-2008. Now, he is the CTO of TIVIT (a strategic centre for science, technology and innovation in the field of ICT).
Prof. Kuosmanen has authored over 150 international jounal and conference articles, seven international book chapters, and he is a co-author in the book "Fundamentals of Nonlinear Digital Filtering". He has supervised dozens of M.Sc. and 11 Dr.Tech. students and has been leading tens of research projects related to signal and image processing, telecommunications and digital media technology.
Jeff Edlund: HP Communications & Media Solutions
Jeff Edlund is the CTO of HP’s Communications & Media Solutions Business Unit. Jeff provides thought leadership around Innovation and the Innovation process, HP Labs research and its application to solving customer problems and participates in HP’s strategy and M&A activities for our Service Provider Customers.
Jeff previously served as the Chief Technologist for HP’s Communications Media & Entertainment field sales organization assigned to Sprint.
In the 90’s Jeff was a core member and Technical Team Leader of the Telecom practice at Compaq and Tandem serving the needs of Sprint. In the 80’s Jeff learned his technical and customer relations skills as a Field Service Engineer for Digital Equipment.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jeff Edlund received a certificate of Engineering from Control Data Institute and graduated from Hartford University with a BS in Computer Science. Jeff resides in Lees Summit, Missouri with his family.
Jeff serves on the Board of Directors of ATIS http://www.atis.org (Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions) and is co-chair of the ATIS Landscape Team exploring and defining the M2M, SmartGrid and Connected Car opportunity in the Communications Industry.
In February Jeff was named as a Fellow for the Society for New Communications Research http://www.sncr.org a global non-profit dedicated to the advanced study of the latest developments in new media and communications, and their effect on traditional media and business models, communications, culture and society.
